I must confess that I am absolutely delighted by the quote from the incomparable Nicolás Gómez Dávila: “Hierarchies are heavenly. In hell all are equal.” Congratulations for this excellent article!

Thank you! If you haven’t seen my post where I share a bunch of his aphorisms, check it out it’s called “Traditionalist from Bogota”

Absolutely! He must be quoted as often as possible. Thank you!

One of my goals in the future is to popularize him more, and maybe work on getting some things back in print in accessible editions.

That would be wonderful!

I’m reading through “That Hideous Strength” now. Made me think of the quote, “No one has ever told you that obedience—humility—is an erotic necessity. You are putting equality just where it ought not to be.” Great post!

"May our families, in love, in truth, and in all their antiquated hierarchical glory, provoke our world to that holy and saving envy."

Beautifully put. All these very, very broken, angry, SSRI-dependent young unmarried women out there, they're so profoundly miserable, so soul sick, yet are absolutely brainwashed by the brazen lie that married Christian women are oppressed/victimized when in fact these are the most joy-filled people in society. Maybe one benefit of the new media environment is that it will make it easier to get the truth out there, and provoke that holy envy? I hope so, cuz I'm out of other ideas...

Thank you as always for your wisdom - and for the beautiful paintings!
