I write a a few posts a month about biblical theology, the Christian life, church history, the Great Books, marriage, etc.
The overarching theme of Power & Glory is beholding the glory of the Lord.
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:18)
For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 4:6)
St. Paul’s words in these verses show that our transformation comes by seeing “the glory of God in the face of Christ Jesus.” We see the glory of the Father, through the Holy Spirit, in the face of Christ Jesus. The death, burial, and resurrection of the Son of God is the crux of it all.
May we behold Christ crucified with the eyes of faith. May we look on Him, and live.
