A Maiden lap. A wooden manger in Bethlehem. The arms of a Carpenter. The arms of smiling Simeon. The arms of Anna the prophetess. In the temple, confounding the teachers. The cold bed of the river Jordan. Some desert stones. A mountain in Galilee. The bow of Simon Peter’s boat. In the house of Lazarus, his friend. In the house of Zacchaeus, the justified. A donkey’s back. An upper room. The damp ground of a dark garden. A Cross of wood. A Maiden lap, again. A rich man’s tomb. A dinner chair on the way to Emmaus. A sandy beach at breakfast time. A heavenly throne at His Father’s right hand, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named. The hearts of men.
Thank you for reading this super short brain-dump of a post today. I jotted this down in my journal a few days ago. I have some longer reads coming out soon.
I was meditating on how the Incarnation allow us to see so much glory in ordinary things. The King of Kings makes a throne out of the smallest and most neglected parts of His creation. The One whom highest heaven cannot contain was contained in the womb of Mary. The One who seperated Light from Dark slept in a manger under starlight. By His Incarnation, the eternal Word sanctifies, elevates, and saves us, His creatures.
Also, the wife is pregnant with our first child. Glory to Jesus Christ. Please pray for a healthy pregnancy and the spiritual strength to be faithful parents.
